Fingal Park Camping Review
Location: Fingal, TAS
Location: Fingal, TAS
Fingal Park Camping operates via a donation box, and is located on Talbot Street in the small Tasmanian town of Fingal. The campground is situated in the Esk Valley in the north-east of Tasmania, about 70 km east of Launceston and 150 km north-east of Hobart.
The town of Fingal is in the centre of Tasmania’s coal mining industry. It’s known for its wide streets, impressive 19th century buildings and the tallest white gums in the world, which are a short 30 minute drive away.
The campground is a clean and convenient stopover spot, with two powered sites on asphalt, and plenty of non-powered grass sites. There’s water, BBQ facilities, and a few fun things for the kids to do too.

Fingal Park camping was a great stopover spot and had everything we needed.
There were two powered camp spots that operated on a first in best dressed policy, and heaps of non-powered grassed sites too. The campground had drinking water, two toilets and we could pay $2 for a hot shower. There was also BBQ facilities, picnic tables, a public phone, garbage bins and a dump point too!
The kids loved stopping here for a night. There was a playground, heaps of space for them to run around, and a fenced mini street scape for bike riding.
Payment was via donation through an honesty box that was a simple slot in the door (around the side of the building near the steps).
All in all, a tidy and comfortable spot for a stopover.
